Dr. RS Sodhi, President of the Indian Dairy Association, has called for a reduction in GST on ghee from 12% to 5%, arguing that the current rate is hurting farmers and boosting the unorganised market. In an interview with CNBC-TV18, he warned that the higher tax is incentivising adulteration and depriving the government of potential GST revenue.
